The Provincial synaxis of the Navajeevan Province held at Provinicialate Nalanchira re-elected Rev. Fr. Jerome Peedikaparambil the Provincial superior of the Navajeevan Province of the Order of the Imitation of Christ. It is for the second time Fr. Jerome is elected as the Provincial Superior. He also served the Bethany Congregation in the office of Superior General. Rev. Fr. Jose Kuruvila OIC, Rev. Fr. Vijayanand OIC, Rev. John Viyani, Rev. Fr. Mathew Parackal OIC are elected as Councilors. Rev. Fr. Chrysostom Kulathintemelethil and Rev. Fr. James Illitharayil OIC are elected as Procurator and Secretary of the Province respectively.

The Provincial synaxis of the Navajyothi province held at Desam, Alwye elected Rev.Fr.Mathai Kadavil OIC, the new provinicial superior of the Navajyothi province of the Order of the Imitation of Christ. Rev. Fr. Mathai is presently the director of the Bodhi (Bethany Mission for the Tribals at Bathery) at Meenangadi. Fr. William Nedumpurath OIC, Rev. Fr. Manoj Odalil OIC, Fr. Philip Vysyaneth OIC, Fr. Anil Zacharia OIC are elected new councilors. Rev. Fr. Varghese Thykoottathil OIC and Rev.. Fr. Anil Zachariah are elected as new procurator and secretary of the Province, respectively.


13th MCA central Assembly was held in Peechi on 14th February. His Beatitude Moran Mor Baselios Cleemis Catholicos inaugurated the meeting. After the evaluation of the previous programmes the new officer-bearers were elected. Rev. Dr Anthony Valiyavilayil OIC gave the orientation talk to all the participants. Mr. Paulraj (Marthandom) and Bany Kariyath (Muvattupuzha) were elected president and general secretary of MCA respectively. The National Spiritual Advisor MCA, Rev. Dr. Mathai Kadavil presided over the election. Newly elected leaders took the oath before Most Rev. Dr. Geevarghese Mar Divannasios, the chairman of MCA. 108 delegates from various diocesan units participated in the assembly.

The reunion celebrations had magnificent and colourful beginning. The three days programme was begun by the proclamation rally that started from Ranni Block Padi to Mar Athanasios Nagar at St. Mary’s Senior Secondary School, Ranni. The portrait of Mar Ivanios from the Major Archdiocese of Trivandrum, Catholicate flag from the Diocese of Bathery, Papal Flag from the Diocese of Marthandom, portrait of Mar Theophilos from the Diocese of Muvattupuzha, MCYM flag from the Diocese of Mavelikara and the MCYM Logo from the Extra-Territorial Regions were brought under the leadership of MCYM with great pomp and show. The procession was leaded by priests and the office bearers of MCYM. Archbishop Thomas Koorilos inaugurated the rally. The lighted lamp was followed by the Papal flag, Catholicate flag and the portrait of the bishops. Hundreds of vehicles accompanied. At the end of the rally the lighted lamp was handed over to Rev. Fr. Abraham Naduviledam (Proto-presbyter) and it was placed at the main venue of the reunion day celebrations. The portraits were handed over to Rev. Msgr. Antony Kackanattu. Most Rev. Joshua Mar Iganthios, Most Rev. Thomas Mar Koorilos, Rev. Fr. Job Kalluvilayil and Rev. Fr. Mathai Kadavil hoisted the Papal flag, Catholicate flag, MCYM flag and the MCA flag respectively.
